About Us
My Story
I was born in the small Eastern Oregon town of Ontario, Oregon. I was raised in a family of 11, so cooking is truly in my blood. Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE to cook. I have always enjoyed feeding both small and large groups and entertaining. Any opportunity to cook, I would take. So, it isn’t a surprise that a dream of mine has always been to work with food in some way. I have spent most of my adult life working in an office environment. I also had an opportunity to work a side job at a convention center in the food & beverage area, and little did I know how much this would be preparing me for my dream job.
In June 2012, I moved to North Dakota from Boise, Idaho, to be with my now husband. I left Boise when it seemed the food truck industry was really starting to take shape there. Over the next few years, my husband was a champ and listened to me as I talked his ear off as to how cool it would be to have one. Fast forward to September 2018, when an opportunity became available locally in Cavalier, North Dakota, to purchase an already established BBQ food trailer business. That is the month we bought Bourbon Barrel BBQ and my dream became a reality!

My menu favorites
What you’ll find me eating most from our menu
Pulled pork sandwhich
Tender smoked pork roast, hand pulled and served atop a bun. Your choice of bbq sauce served on the side. Yum!
Super nachos
Smoked meat, nacho cheese, lettuce, olives, jalapeños, onions, sour cream & salsa! So good!
Jalapeno Mac and Cheese
The ultimate comfort food. Tenderly cooked cavatappi noodles with a variety of cheeses mixed into a creamy goodness that is YUM.

Thank you
I am extremely grateful for all the people who have supported my business so far. Thank you to the City of Cavalier and all the businesses there for welcoming me with open arms and open lots. Thank you to the surrounding towns who also did the same! My customers are the best!
I LOVE sharing my love of food with other people and doing what I do each day doesn’t feel like work. I am so grateful to the former owner for being so willing to share his love of BBQ with me, and for continuing to help me learn along the way. And most especially, I am thankful for a husband who helped me fulfill a dream I have had for so long.
